Truslow Resource Consulting LLC was hired by a landowners association on Gooseberry Island in Kittery, Maine to assist them in improving the habitat and drainage of Gooseberry Pond. Project options ranged from invasive phragmites and shrub removal and dredging of built up organic matter and sediment from the pond in optimal areas to increase seepage capacity and provide more pond storage to more engineered options such as establishing drainage from the Pond to the adjacent beach through a culvert or engineered drainage trench. TRC also provided the landowners association with information regarding local, state, and federal permitting requirements for each of the proposed project options. The landowners association is currently considering their options.
